Supervoice is 13 years old. Looking back, watching the videos and looking at the photos a lot of thoughts go through my head.
"Wow I was so thin then!" I thought, seeing myself as Marimar in one of our concerts in 1996. Then I realized "Gosh I'm old!" they actually did a remake of the show just recently. I just shook my head and smiled. Then I saw photos of my students who started out at the age of 3 - 6 yo. They who used to run around and ride on my back are now much much taller than me. Many are now parents themselves. I sighed.
Continuing my Nostalgia of Supervoice in the past, I encountered our past shows and activities on video. I still can't get over the transformation of each production. Our first Hesus na Buhay did not even have crosses. Our first Windang did not have a set. Then later on we built our first board which was the club and it stood up center for our one year run of Windang.
Remembering the places we've perfomed in like CCP, Folk Arts, Studio 1 of ABS-CBN, Insular life, RCBC, SM Storyland, Enchanted Kingdom etc. I sat and thought, "Did this actually hapen? Did I make this happen?"
Of course, there is the memory of the occassional and major disappontments that I'd rather not dwell in. I'd rather remember the happy times I spent with everyone. Regardless of what some people have done, one way or another, we had our good times. And I would like to remember it that way. Either way, I have no regrets for in what ever happened, I learned a lot. And it made me a better director and a better person.
And now, though faces change and each show ends one after the other, in the end we are left with a precious memory of today. And this memory will be part of our 13 year history together (going 14). And if you have been part of this, you can always say, once in my life I was a Supervoice. I was part of Direk Sheila's mission to teach God's word through her work. And if in your heart you still have love for our group and my family, you can proudly say:
"I am part of the SUPERVOICE FAMILY." Where ever you may be.
I do not know what is next for us. But God has a plan. He is the one who created our group and I know He will make it another wonderful journey for us all.
I would like to thank my family: Mommy, for cleaning up and making the cuts when it really is necessary for the show. Daddy for his enchanting songs and for driving us to and fro for shows and whatever. To Don, my brother who takes time out to give his expertise to SV, to Mike who really takes time out for shows and of course to Charlotte who is my source of strength and joy.
I also would like to thank my stage managers and SV teacher who really get out of their way to help me even with our tight budget. I appreciate you being there when I need you.
To my students who remember my teaching, you guys bring joy to my heart and make me realize that the past 13 years have been worth my while. Knowing you learned the values our plays teach, lets me know that It was all worth it.
So Happy anniversary to us! Company bow every one. Let us offer everything we do to the Lord. ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.
Dear friends,
I present to you SUPERVOICE's new project, AGAW BUHAY, as our participation for CLEAN UP THE PHILIPPINES. Our goal is to bring the play to the communities...to the streets. to educate the masses about the importance of Recycling and Seggregation and fight global warming.
The shows will be presented for free and all our expenses and needs for the shows will all be coming from generous sponsors. And I hope you can be one of them or refer us to whoever can help us.
We have put together a souvenir program for the project but for those who wish to give in-kind donations and pledges are welcome as well. I hope to hear from you all soon. Our launching is on September 16, 2008.
This is a big risk for us, but I know. in good faith God will provide our needs and make this project a success. God bless!

It took sometime before I congratulated the winners but from the bottom of my heart I mean it when I say I am proud of this year's awardees.
RIZARDO BOLLOZOS JR - Best actor for the second time. It was unanimous among us board members to give back this award to JR for his best portrayal of Hesus in Hesus Na Buhay. Of all the 7 years he has done the role, this year he transformed himself to our Lord and gave everyone goosebumps. Of course, he was also great in his roles as Rizal and Dencio inspite the limited rehearsals because of his work.
CHARLES NAZARIO - Charles practically hoarded most of the lead roles this year and aced them all. What won him the award was his "Yes" attitude whenever I gave him a role. You will hear him say "Kaya po yan." and indeed kinaya niya lahat even if he was sick or down in the dumps, he never showed it onstage. He transformed into his many characters easily, like Rommel in Mali Sya, Prosti in Windang, Hudas in Hesus na Buhay, Ben in All That, Aladdin in Aladdin, Chao Yan in Little Mermaid & Jack in Jack o Lantern.
JESSICA VELASCO - Best Actress for her roles as Lyn in Malisya, Magdalena in Hesus na Buhay, Neneng in Windang, Ming / Michiko in Little Mermaid, Shaherazade in Aladdin and many more supporting roles. This season, Jek jek displayed her full potential and dedication as well for her craft. I can trust her with any role and she would fully deliver. I am so proud of you.
ANNALEA SURIO - Best Actress for her roles as Sisa in Rizal, Elsa in Windang, Puresa in Mali Sya, Mija in Little Mermaid, Shaherazade in Aladdin & Yvette in All that. Lea's love for performing shows in every role she gets. Her passion for her roles reaches out to her audience and touches them immensely. A true theater artist.
GIANNE DE PERALTA - Best Supporting Actress for her roles as Maya in windang, Noimy in Mali Sya, Josephing in Rizal, Page in Aladdin & many others. She has finally gone out of her shell and was in full bloom this past season grabbing one role after the other and working hard to achieve exactly what I ask for. Her never give up attitude, attending rehearsals in between classes and conquering her fear of heights truly paid off as we watched her on stage.
ADRIAN JUANEZA - Best supporting Actor for the second time in a row. Ian seems like a happy go lucky guy but he is truly serious about his craft. And this shows in his consistency and energetic appeal whenever he goes on stage as Customer in Windang, Dudung in All That and many more. A wonderful dancer and an actor with great comic timing.
This year I also gave out NFA awards to the boys who were with me NEAR FAR ALL AROUND for the past season. They were there running back and forth rehearsals and teaching jobs with me and with this award I show my deep gratitude and appreciation of their efforts. Thanks guys (Charles, JL, John & Andrew).
Also I gave out INSTANT NOODLES AWARDS to those who instantly stood in for some actors who can't make the shows. These people saved the day once or twice in the past season. Congrats Erika G, Erika T & Johnlloyd.
Of course we also awarded our season teachers John G, Charles, JL, Erika and Ian. Great job guys! Our recitals were all fun and great.
Once again congratulations to all the winners. May you continue to improve your craft and be an inspiration to your new borthers and sisters in SV. For those who did not win, there's still next year and the whole next season to work on it.
All for the glory of God!
