FOUNDER

SUPERVOICE FOUNDER

Sheila Lopez Gamo is the founder and executive director of Supervoice Music & Theater Foundation, Inc., which she first put up as a regular music training school way back in 1995, at the young age of 18. It is here where she put into good use her being a graduate of Sta Isabel’s Conservatory of Music, majoring in Music Education and smashing charisma among children. Her calling for this noble mission had been evident from the very start because, even long before Supervoice is officially converted into a foundation last year (2002), she had been maintaining a pool of scholars of poor kids and youths whom she painstakingly trained and helped bring out their artistic talents for free.

Career wise, Sheila has grown to be a well-respected professional theater actress and singer among her peers to date, from the time she had her first taste of a big professional stage production in Ms. Celeste Legaspi’s Musicat in Revue in Subic and the Enchanted Kingdom. That break opened the door for her into the enchanting world of theater and music as she capped and hurdled one role after the other in different equally reputable theater groups in the Philippines, like:

A. MUSICAL THEATER PHILIPPINES (MUSICAT)

* Fire Water Woman  - shown at the CCP Little Theater

* Sino Ka Ba Jose Rizal? (as Leonor Rivera) - at the Music Museum

* Alikabok (as Trining) - at the Music Museum

* Musicat Music (as part of the ensemble) -at CCP Main Theater

B. TANGHALANG PILIPINO

* Ilustrado, Ang Buhay ni Rizal (as Tottie Beckette) - at the CCP Little Theater, Intramuros and on tour

C. PHILSTAGE

* Philstage is Together Again (as Perla Adea) - staged at the Edsa Shangrila Plaza

D. GANTIMPALA THEATER FOUNDATION, INC.

* Kanser (as Sisa) - at the AFP Theater and PCS Auditorium

* Buding for Senator (as a dancer) - at the Music Museum

* Bakit Babae Ang Naghuhugas ng Pinggan? (as the Narrator) -at the Music Museum

E. TRUMPETS

* The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (as Baby Rabbit) - at the Meralco Theater

* The Little Mermaid (Abridged version)                             - Ayala Mall Tour

F. MUSICAL THEATER FOUNDATION

* Spoliarium, Juan Luna the Opera (a Ryan Cayabyab musical) - at the CCP Main Theater

2004 and the National Museum on June 3, 2006

This is aside from her TV guestings, performances for charity, like THE KING AND ME (playing the role of Teacher Anna) and H.I. ANNIE for the PHILIPPINE INSTITUTE FOR THE DEAF at the GSIS Auditorium. She also directed their latest recital “THUMBELINA”.

Sheila is also a regular TV and live show host for Batibot as Ate Celia, a storyteller and voice dubber for Walt Disney Channel, an active OPM member and a commercial model. She was a billboard model for Chippy. Currently she has taught at Gantimpala Theater Foundation & Paco Catholic Schools Musical Theater for kids. Just recently last August 2005, she directed the EXCERPTS FROM MUSICALS (Oliver, Annie, Alikabok, Magnificat) for Sta. Isabel College.

She writes all of the original musical plays for her Supervoice Music and Theater Foundation, Inc. and makes sure that all of them are materials that inspire and relay meaningful messages to people. She also composes the songs in those plays in collaboration with her father and younger brother, Don Ryan, as the musical arranger.

She may seem very busy with so many projects, but her main priority has always been her mission for Supervoice Music & Theater Foundation, Inc., which is to help young budding artists discover and develop their talents and lead them into becoming productive and responsible citizens to the best way she could.
